I Have a Confession to Make...

I have a confession to make.  I am a badge junkie. No, not the kind of badge you wear on clothing, but a digital badge junkie. Yes, the badges you receive for achieving congratulations for exercising or listening to audible or riding my Peloton bike.

I have 16 digital badges with my Audible account, from Daily Dipper, Stenographer, Mt. Everest, and The Stack. The Stack badge indicates that I have 50 or more books in my library.

Hopefully, this glimpse into my digital badge fascination and the number of badges earned indicate my desire to learn. Most of my books are non-fiction, with a slant toward motivation and encouragement. I love a good book that motivates me to do something, change a behavior or create action.

Yesterday, spending an afternoon car drive with my wife, we listened to one of my motivational audio books, "No B.S. Wealth Attraction in the New Economy," by Dan Kennedy. A great book (the narrator is okay and sometimes tough to listen to), and I would probably encourage you to read vs. listen to the book. However, the information in the book is fantastic!

With that said, Dan reminded me yesterday of several items I need to begin to implement. First, one of the success principles is "action." In other words, we need to put action behind our ideas. As Dan points out, everyone has great ideas, but only a few people put effort into their thoughts. When I heard these words, I thought of all my great ideas and, unfortunately, never acted on those million-dollar ideas. Fortunately, I have worked on many other ideas, and my online real estate school is one. Without action, my school would not be in existence today.

The other million-dollar idea Dan shared is the need to follow up with our clients with meaningful information. When the words came across my truck speakers, I immediately thought of how I had dropped the ball with many of my real estate school students, thus the reason for this email. I realized then that I need to begin following up with you, my past clients, customers, and others who have had an interest in Global Real Estate School or the Business Tech Guy. Therefore, I aim to send you a monthly newsletter with tips, advice, and a motivational or encouraging article to help add value to your lives.

Here's the takeaway from this article. Please read, listen to books, spend time listening to podcasts, and read news articles that can grow your business, and you, too, will discover new ideas that will lead you to success.

Listening to audiobooks and podcasts has made a huge difference in my life, and I believe that yesterday’s reading/listening, will help me implement new ideas for Global Real Estate School that can impact my company and others for many generations.

As the British novelist, Roald Dahl once said, “If you are going to get anywhere in life you have to read a lot of books.”
